Originally I had planned to write a post about all the controversy about NaNo and the discussions that have made me a bit mad this week, but uni is sucking the life out of me. I'm stressing myself over the million and one projects I have to complete (Who had the idea to do this many modules in a semester? Oh right, that was me). Stressing doesn't make one very productive. Much the opposite. I should just take the hint and do it instead of panicking over it, but sometimes it's not that easy. Sometimes panicking is required. Yes, it's silly. I'll get over it, I promise.
In the spirit of NaNo, here's a quote I came across today, that I really loved - and absolutely agree with. It's about the beauty of discovery in a new story and that sometimes you learn a lot along the way... aka Revisions are key to good writing.
I hope everyone's NaNo is going well! =) Hang in there.
"It would be nice, I suppose, to begin at the perfect point in the story, in the perfect way, using the perfect voice to present exactly the desired scene. Unfortunately, you have no choice but to be wholly clueless about all of this. The rightness of things is generally revealed in retrospect, and you’re unlikely to know in advance what is right and wrong in a story that has not yet been written." -- Stephen Koch
